The Translator - John Crowely
This is John Crowley's book about Kit Malone, a
poetry student, her teacher, a Soviet exile, and the art of translation between
worlds. Oh yeah, and the cuban missile crisis... nuclear war averted by
poetry?
I think this book was not wildly popular, but it
seems to have been written just for me. You see, I may be the only Crowely fan
who studied Russian poetry and wrote the same, in English... at least for a
while, for fun.
But enough about me,
it's well crafted and exceptionally - well, interesting.
